A click counter — also called a clicker counter, or a counter clicker — is the digital version of the little metal tally clicker a doorman or a warehouse worker carries. You press once per thing, and the number goes up. This one is free, runs in the browser and needs no login.
What makes it a digital clicker counter rather than a toy is what it remembers. The count survives a refresh, a closed tab and a flat battery, each counter can be renamed, and a mis-tap is one press of undo away. How do I use the click counter?
Press the big + button to add one and − to take one away. On a keyboard, spacebar, plus, up arrow and right arrow all add one. Your count is saved as you go, so there is nothing to press at the end.
Does the click counter reset when I close the page?
No. The number is written into this browser the moment it changes, so a click counter online is only useful if it survives a closed tab — and this clicker counter online does. You will see when you last used it and what you left off at.
Can I use it as a keyboard click counter?
Yes. Spacebar, plus and the up and right arrow keys each add one, while minus and the down and left arrows subtract. It works as a key click counter without you ever touching the mouse.
Is there a click counter app to install?
There is no click counter app and no clicker counter app to download. This is an online clicker counter that runs in the browser, and you can add it to your home screen if you want it to open like an app.
Can I count clicks and spacebar presses separately?
Yes. Add a second counter and rename it. One can be your spacebar click counter — or spacebar clicker counter, same thing — and the other your mouse counter, and pressing one never moves the other. There is also a dedicated spacebar counter.
Is there a limit to how high it counts?
No practical limit. You can also set a number to stop at in Settings, which is useful when you are counting up to a target and do not want to overshoot.
Can I run two click counters side by side?
Yes, as many as you need. Each keeps its own total, its own step size and its own name, so an online counter click session can track several things at once.
Is the click counter free?

What is a click counter called?
Most often a tally counter or hand tally counter, and just as often a clicker or hand clicker after the noise the ratchet makes. The same device is sold as a pitch counter to baseball coaches, a people counter to event staff and a cell counter to laboratories — the name on the box changes with the buyer, but underneath it is one four-digit clicker.
Why use the click counter?
